When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect certain information:

• Device Information: We collect information about the mobile device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage Data: We track user activity in relation to the App and may collect information about the features you use, the time and duration of your activities, and crash logs.
• Location Data: With your permission, we may collect precise location data to verify shift locations or facilitate shift discovery. You can disable this in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our Services;
• Facilitate the posting, finding, and trading of shifts between users;
• Process transactions and manage user subscriptions;
• Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages;
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests and provide customer service;
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Services;
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities;

• With Other Users: Your profile information (name, photo, job title) and shift activity are visible to other members of the "Pools" you voluntarily join.
• With Service Providers: We share information with vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing).
• For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process.
• Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

3.1 Employer Independence

IMPORTANT: WorkBuddy is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or contracted by your employer, union, or any specific government agency (including police or fire departments). We do not automatically share your personal messages, shift notes, or trade details with your employer unless you explicitly use a feature designed to do so or if required by law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Retention

We store the information we collect about you for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we originally collected it. We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or as required by law.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no internet or electronic storage system is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Account Information

You may update, correct, or delete information about you at any time by logging into your online account. If you wish to delete your account, please use the in-app deletion tool or contact us.

6.2 Push Notifications

With your consent, we send push notifications or alerts to your mobile device. You can deactivate these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your mobile device.

7. Children

Our Services are not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice.
